Making Flowers is the tenth episode of the series. It first aired on 11th April 1997.

Plot[]

A watering can appears in Teletubbyland. Laa-Laa finds it and she waters some flowers that say "Lovely water!". Then, a voice trumpet rises and sings the nursery rhyme "Mary Mary Quite Contrary". Laa-Laa has fun watering flowers. Then, the Magic Windmill starts spinning and the Teletubbies watch some children make some flowers out of paper. The Teletubbies play a game. Tinky Winky walks around some hills. Then, the other Teletubbies walk around the hills but they walk in the opposite direction. But, suddenly, Tinky Winky stops and starts walking the same way as the other Teletubbies. They all bump into each other and end up falling over! They then have a Big Hug. The Magic Windmill spins again and the Teletubbies watch the animals march through Teletubbyland. The animals soon vanish and the Magic Windmill stops spinning as it's time for Tubby Bye-Bye.

A watering can appears in Teletubbyland. Laa-Laa finds it and she waters some flowers that say "Lovely water!". Then, a voice trumpet rises and sings the nursery rhyme "Mary Mary quite contrary". Laa-Laa has fun watering flowers. Then, the Magic Windmill starts spinning, so the Teletubbies watch some children make some flowers out of paper. After that, the Teletubbies do a special extended version of the Twisty Dance before the Magic Windmill spins and the Teletubbies go watch the Magic Tree. After the tree vanishes, the Magic Windmill stops spinning and it is time for Tubby Bye-Bye.

  • The Watering Can segment was featured in the VHS Here Come the Teletubbies.
  • The Making Flowers video was featured in the PlayStation/PC game Play with the Teletubbies.
  • During the TV Event, the Teletubbies all say their names for a 2nd time before Laa-Laa gets picked.
  • This is the first episode to include the Birds Eye View (with Sparkles) and the Start Spinning Windmill animation.
  • Dipsy was the boo-shouter in both versions.
  • Po was the missing Teletubby in the UK Version. Dipsy was the missing Teletubby in the US Version.
  • A fade effect is used for the Magic Windmill about to stop spinning for Tubby Bye-Bye after the Animal Parade.
  • This marks the first episode to include the Field 3 Opening Shot as seen after the intro.
  • This is the only episode where Ella Ainsworth appears without her younger sister, Lilly Ainsworth.
  • After the TV Event, a fade effect is used to transition from the Sun Baby to the Next Segment. This only happens in the UK Version.
  • This is the first episode in which the Animal Parade begins with a trumpet sound. This version was included in Here Come the Teletubbies.
  • The US version of Making Flowers aired on August 31, 1998.
  • The US version has the extended version of the Twisty Dance, and the Magic Tree instead of the Figure 8 segment and the Animal Parade.
  • The Portuguese version has a different Making Flowers video with Portuguese children.

Goofs[]

  • In the Figure 8 segment, the parping noises were not heard when the Teletubbies fell over. Only the jingling noises after they bumped into each other and kicked their legs. However, in Numbers - 8 and The Pier, the parping noises were heard along with the jingles.
