Plot (Version 1)[]

The Teletubbies do a conga dance before the windmill spins. Then, they watch some children learn about the number five. Afterwards, Tinky Winky plays a jumping game in the house. Then, a voice trumpet rises, and he listens to it count to five in three different languages (Welsh, Urdu and Spanish). Dipsy and Laa-Laa join in later and listen to the voice trumpet as well. Po arrives, and the other Teletubbies ask her to join in. However, she does not want to join because she wants to ride her scooter. Finally, Tinky Winky, Dipsy, and Laa-Laa chase Po around the house for five laps before having a big hug then the Magic Windmill stops spinning for Tubby Bye-Bye.

The Teletubbies are asleep, but Noo-Noo tidies up their blankets. They stop chasing him to watch some children learn about the number five before the sun giggles afterwards. A flashing light appears in Teletubbyland. Then, they go to see The Magic Tree before the Magic Windmill stops spinning for Tubby Bye-Bye.

A voice trumpet rises and counts five. Tinky Winky jumps five times before he runs off to watch a new group of American children learn about the number five. Five voice trumpets rise and play some lovely music for the Teletubbies. They all have a Big Hug before it is time for Tubby Bye-Bye.

  • This is the only set of Numbers episodes with 3 versions.
  • In some of the foreign dubs of Version 1, instead of Welsh and Urdu, the Voice Trumpet counts to 5 in other languages, e.g. German dub- Dutch, English, Spanish. Polish dub- English, French, Spanish. French dub- ​English, German, Spanish.
  • Version 1 reuses the opening segment from Painting with Hands and Feet. To add this, the Normal animation replaces the Original animation.
  • The Noo-Noo tidying up the blankets segment from Version 2 was featured in the VHS Busy Day.
  • Po was the missing Teletubby in Version 1. Tinky Winky was the missing Teletubby in Version 2. Dipsy was the missing Teletubby in Version 3. Laa-Laa was the missing Teletubby in the US Version of Version 3.
  • Tinky Winky was the boo shouter in Version 1 and the US Version of Version 3. Laa-Laa was the boo shouter in Versions 2 & 3.
  • Dipsy is picked for the TV Event in Version 1, Po is picked in Version 2 and Tinky Winky is picked in Version 3
  • In Version 3, a group of American children are used. It was also the only UK episode to feature the Children at Treasure Island School, Florida.
  • In Version 1, a new bird chirping sound effect was used during the main segment's opening shot. However, it was only used for this episode.
  • The US Version of Numbers 5 aired on September 14 1999.
  • The US Version of Version 3 had The Jumping Dance on the path.

Goofs[]

  • The YouTube thumbnail for the Spanish version of Version 2 features a picture from the String segment from Amy's Pasta, but this segment isn't in this episode.
