Emily and Jester is the 15th episode of the original series. It first aired on 18th April, 1997.


A chair appears and Laa-LaaDipsy, and Tinky-Winky have fun standing up and sitting down. The Magic Windmill starts to spin, and the Teletubbies watch Emily riding her pony, Jester. Afterwards, they do the Round and Round Dance near the house, then the Windmill stops spinning and it's time for Tubby Bye-Bye.

  • This episode marks the first appearance of Emily and Jester.
  • This is the first episode where the Teletubbies giggle during the Round and Round Dance. It is also the first episode to have the shortened version of the dance.
  • Apparently, this is the first episode of the show that aired in the US.
  • After the dance, the Baby Sun giggles and the Windmill stops spinning.
  • After the magic windmill stops spinning, the Tubby Bye-Bye voice trumpet rises up much faster than usual and says time for Tubby Bye Bye only twice instead of three times.
  • Laa-Laa was the boo shouter.
  • Tinky Winky was the missing teletubby.
  • On the website 2001-2004 at, it was Tinky Winky who had the TV Transmission of Emily and Jester. In the episode, it was Dipsy who had it.


  • When Tinky Winky, Dipsy and Laa-Laa say 'Uh-oh!', Tinky Winky's voice is really quiet that it's hard to hear him.
